Herb Small - PBFS FacultyDr. Herb Sennett, Screenwriting

Herb Sennett teaches screenwriting at the Palm Beach Film School. He has an extensive background in theatre (as director, designer, teacher), education (as consultant to the Florida Board of Education), broadcasting (on-air personality and sound engineer), and writing (2 books and numerous articles). Having earned the Ph.D. and several masters' degrees, Herb has taught theatre and communications at three collegiate institutions including Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Herb studied dramatic writing with famed Nigerian writer/director/actor Femi Euba while at Louisiana State University. Herb has written four stage plays (one of which has had an extensive production history) and several screenplays. Herb's first movie, "Finally Home" was featured at nearly a dozen film festivals and won first place at the ReBirth Fine Arts Festival in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2005.

Herb's latest movie, "A Veteran Affair", stars Michael Winslow, of Spaceballs and Police Academy, and Bob Carter, a popular West Palm Beach actor/director. Herb also teaches communications at Palm Beach Community College.

John McCormack, Post-Production
John was born in Edison, New Jersey but spent most of his younger years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia living with his family. Returning to the United States, he graduated from the Art Institute in Ft. Lauderdale with an A.S. in Video Production where he received the "Highest Achievement Award" in his program. John edits full-time at The Broadcast Arts Group, a production and post facility in addition to consulting and free-lancing. Recently, he was the producer and editor of "Art's Point of View" which went on to become an Official Selection of the 2005 Palm Beach International Film Festival. He currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida.

Larry DeCarmine, Sound
Larry DeCarmine teaches Sound and Post-Production Sound Design. He has an extensive background in audio production, film, recording and mixing location sound. A partial list of his production credits include: "Malcolm X", "He Got Game", and "Clockers". He has also worked on music videos with a variety of popular artists.

Bob Carter, Acting
Bob Carter - PBFS FacultyBob Carter teaches Acting, Directing and Casting at the Palm Beach Film School. He teaches the filmmaking students to create and develop their characters. He assists with the open-call auditions and provides invaluable casting insight.

He helps our novice filmmakers develop a better appreciation of working with actors. He is a co-founder as well as artistic director of the original Actor's Workshop and Repertory Company back in the early 80s, which he led to develop into a critically acclaimed resident theatre company in downtown West Palm Beach. He has been teaching actors for more than two decades and continues to work extensively himself as a professional actor and director. He is also a skilled "behind-the-scenes" technician.

Mr. Carter is an artist-in-residence at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Mr. Carter conducts private as well as group acting classes, drawing from all facets of his years in theatre and film.
